Elemento Metal

O Metal é uma metáfora na Medicina Tradicional Chinesa, pois na altura dos anciães, o Metal era bem diferente da designação que apresenta atualmente. Na realidade, o nome comum do Metal é manifestado por um material denso, igualmente vai corresponder ao outono (estação do ano), altura de colheita, ao oeste (pontos cardiais) que representa o pôr do sol, está associado ao branco (Chia, 1989; Leung e Xue, 2005; Liu, 2010; Maciocia, 2001; Tierra, 1998).

O Metal dos cinco elementos é o elemento mais espiritual, correspondendo ao ar inspirado e expirado, representado pelos Pulmões (órgão em Yin). Em comparação com os cinco elementos, este é o elemento mais denso que existe, ele está presente no ar que inspirado sendo importante na circulação de oxigênio e de comida, e para nutrir o sangue (Chia, 1989; Leung e Xue, 2005; Liu, 2010; Maciocia, 2001; Tierra, 1998).


Nos órgãos de Yang o Metal representa o Cólon, procedendo à eliminação das toxinas presentes no organismo humano. O Picante é o sabor que o Metal representa nesta teoria indica os óleos voláteis e a sua eliminação por parte da Bexiga (Chia, 1989; Leung e Xue, 2005; Liu, 2010; Maciocia, 2001; Tierra, 1998).
